Camp Contact (Burning Man) build day 3. The scene here is beyond belief. Everyone is saying how smoothly things are going, despite this being the most sophisticated Camp Contact ever (7 event spaces and things happening around the clock once the burn starts).
Photos in order:
1. Tool area
2. Chill dome. You can see the swamp cooler on the right
3. Main event space which we share with our villages mates (Naked Heart and Decentral). Consisting of 5 domes (most with cooling), 2 dance floors one with wood floor, and 2 large shade / tent structures. What you don’t see is the steam bath and Wim Hof / ice shower area (this has not yet been built)
4 and 5. Large kitchen, inside and out. People take food on the buffet inside and eat on pillows outside. About 170 people are expected
6 and 7: Camping shade structure, inside and out, also known as “the alps”.
Not shown (not built yet): the “Himalayas” (shaded event space, good for dancing), the wood dance floor, steam bath / sauna, and Wim Hof area
All this in huge proportions — I don’t know the size of the Alps, I will look it up later (120×120 feet?). There are about 25 of us here building in our camp and we are kicking ass, within of course a context of “chaotic emergence” (I personally could use a tad more structure and communication, but it works)
